  • American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers (AIME)
    Founded in 1871 by 22 mining engineers in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. AIME was one of the first national engineering societies established in the United States, and, along with ASCE (civil), ASME (mechanical), IEEE (electrical), and AIChE (chemical), it is known as an Engineering Founder Society. Together, the engineering Founder Societies form the United Engineering Foundation (UEF).

     
  • American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE)
    Founded in 1893, the American Society for Engineering Education is a nonprofit organization of individuals and institutions committed to furthering education in engineering and engineering technology.

     
  • American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE)
    The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers is an educational and scientific organization dedicated to the advancement of engineering applicable to agricultural, food, and biological systems. Founded in 1907 and headquartered in St. Joseph, Michigan, ASABE comprises members in more than 100 countries.

     
  • American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)
    The American Society of Civil Engineers represents more than 150,000 members of the civil engineering profession in 177 countries. Founded in 1852, ASCE is the nation’s oldest engineering society. ASCE stands at the forefront of a profession that plans, designs, constructs, and operates society’s economic and social engine – the built environment – while protecting and restoring the natural environment.

     
  • American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE)
    ASHRAE, founded in 1894, is a global society advancing human well-being through sustainable technology for the built environment. The Society and its members focus on building systems, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, refrigeration and sustainability within the industry.

     
  • American Society Of Highway Engineers (ASHE)
    "The mission of the American Society of Highway Engineers is to provide a forum for members and partners of the highway industry to promote a safe, efficient and sustainable transportation system through education, innovation and fellowship."


     
  • American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
    ASME is a not-for-profit membership organization that enables collaboration, knowledge sharing, career enrichment, and skills development across all engineering disciplines, toward a goal of helping the global engineering community develop solutions to benefit lives and livelihoods. Founded in 1880 by a small group of leading industrialists, ASME has grown through the decades to include more than 130,000 members in 151 countries. Thirty-two thousand of these members are students.

     
  • Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)
    ACM brings together computing educators, researchers, and professionals to inspire dialogue, share resources, and address the field's challenges.

     
  • Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES)
    The Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) is the professional society for biomedical engineering and bioengineering. Founded in early 1968, the Society now boasts over 7,000 members and is growing, rapidly.

     
  • Geoprofessional Business Association (GBA)
    The Geoprofessional Business Association (GBA) is geoprofessionals’ strongest, most loyal ally. It serves geotechnical, environmental, and other geoprofessionals by giving them proven tools to achieve business success by confronting risk and optimizing performance.

     
  • Institute for Biological Engineering (IBE)
    IBE supports:

  • Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS)
    Largest society in the world for professionals in the field of operations research (O.R.), management science, and analytics. INFORMS serves the scientific and professional needs of Analytics Professionals and Operations Researchers including educators, scientists, students, managers, analysts, and consultants. The Institute serves as a focal point for analytics and O.R. professionals, permitting them to communicate with each other and reach out to other professional societies, as well as the varied clientele of the profession's research and practice.

The Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, founded in 1948, helps its members improve complex organizations around the world and across industries.

    International educational and scientific association of transportation professionals who are responsible for meeting mobility and safety needs.

  • International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP)
    The Academy has restricted membership based on demonstrated excellence in research and has some 600 academic and industrial members from 50 industrialized countries.

     
  • International Federation of Robotics
    The purpose of IFR shall be to promote and strengthen the robotics industry worldwide, to protect its business interests, to cause public awareness about robotics technologies and to deal with other matters of relevance to its members.

     
  • The International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE)
    SPIE is an international society advancing an interdisciplinary approach to the science and application of light. The not-for-profit society advances emerging technologies through interdisciplinary information exchange, continuing education, publications, patent precedent, and career and professional growth.

     
  • Materials Research Society (MRS)
    The Materials Research Society (MRS) is an organization of materials researchers worldwide that promotes communication for the advancement of interdisciplinary materials research and technology to improve the quality of life.

     
  • National Academy of Engineering (NAE)
    Founded in 1964, the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) is a private, independent, nonprofit institution that provides engineering leadership in service to the nation. The mission of the National Academy of Engineering is to advance the well-being of the nation by promoting a vibrant engineering profession and by marshaling the expertise and insights of eminent engineers to provide independent advice to the federal government on matters involving engineering and technology.

    The NAE is part of The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. The NAE operates under the same congressional act of incorporation that established the National Academy of Sciences, signed in 1863 by President Lincoln. Under this charter the NAE is directed "whenever called upon by any department or agency of the government, to investigate, examine, experiment, and report upon any subject of science or art.”

     
  • National Council of Structural Engineers Associations (NCSEA)
    NCSEA advances the practice of structural engineering by representing and strengthening its Member Organizations. The National Council of Structural Engineers Associations is recognized as a leading advocate for the practice of structural engineering.

     
  • National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE)
    The National Society of Professional Engineers stands today as the only national organization committed to addressing the professional concerns of licensed PEs across all disciplines. NSPE was established in 1934 to realize a simple but vital goal: create an inclusive, nontechnical organization dedicated to the interests of licensed professional engineers, regardless of practice area, that would protect engineers (and the public) from unqualified practitioners, build public recognition for the profession, and stand against unethical practices and inadequate compensation.

  • Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)
    SAE International is a global body of scientists, engineers, and practitioners that advances self-propelled vehicle and system knowledge in a neutral forum for the benefit of society. SAE International is the leader in connecting and educating engineers while promoting, developing and advancing aerospace, commercial vehicle and automotive engineering.

     
  • Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME)
    We serve the manufacturing industry as a nonprofit by promoting advanced manufacturing technology and developing a skilled workforce.
    We work closely with manufacturers to share knowledge and resources that generate solutions meeting industry demands.

     
  • Society of Women Engineers (SWE)
    For more than six decades, SWE has given women engineers a unique place and voice within the engineering industry. Our organization is centered around a passion for our members' success and continues to evolve with the challenges and opportunities reflected in today's exciting engineering and technology specialties.

    SWE provides collegiate members the opportunity to inspire future generations and have fun. SWE also provides collegiate members valuable access to a unique set of resources that sets the stage for a successful career.

     
  • Transportation Research Board (TRB)
    The mission of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) is to promote innovation and progress in transportation through research. In an objective and interdisciplinary setting, TRB facilitates the sharing of information on transportation practice and policy by researchers and practitioners; stimulates research and offers research management services that promote technical excellence; provides expert advice on transportation policy and programs; and disseminates research results broadly and encourages their implementation. TRB is one of seven program units of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, which provides independent, objective analysis and advice to the nation and conducts other activities to solve complex problems and inform public policy decisions.
