Physics: Reference

Reference works and electronic resources useful for physics students.

How to Use Reference Works

Use these reference works to find out basic facts, or to read brief explanations of concepts in physics. For example, if you want to know what the correct form of an equation is, you could look in the AIP Physics Desk Reference. If you want to know about the life a famous physicist, you can look in the Dictionary of Scientific Biography or the New Dictionary of Scientific Biography, depending on when he or she lived.
